About This Tour
This five-day cultural tour follows the ancient trade routes that linked Arabia to the Mediterranean, stopping at nine of Jordan's most significant historical sites. The itinerary moves north from Amman to Jerash — Rome's best-preserved provincial city outside Italy — and the forested heights of Ajloun before reversing south along the Kings' Highway through Madaba, Mount Nebo and the Crusader stronghold of Al-Karak. The final days belong to Petra and the Wadi Rum desert, with a return leg along the Dead Sea shore.
The Wadi Rum overnight is the itinerary's centrepiece: a 4x4 safari across the protected desert reserve at dusk, followed by a Bedouin dinner and sleeping under an unobstructed night sky. Petra is approached through the Siq on foot — the Treasury revealing itself at the gorge's end — before climbing to the High Place of Sacrifice and, with time, reaching the Monastery. The Dead Sea stop combines a float in mineral-rich water with the traditional shoreline mud wrap.
The tour runs year-round from Amman; spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) offer ideal conditions. It pairs well with a Holy Land extension via the Allenby Bridge, two hours from Amman. Starting from USD 475 per person, the price covers private transport, an English-speaking guide, hotel accommodation and all entrance fees.
