About This Tour
This nine-day cycling adventure traces one of Jordan's most rewarding riding corridors: north to south from Amman through the Roman city of Jerash, then down the precipitous Rift Valley escarpment to Madaba, Mount Nebo and the shores of the Dead Sea. Each day's distance is calibrated for enthusiast cyclists rather than racers, with a support vehicle carrying luggage and providing mechanical assistance throughout.
Cyclists ride past terraced olive groves and Byzantine church ruins on the Jerash leg before the road falls sharply into the Rift Valley — one of the most visually dramatic descents in the Middle East. The itinerary builds in time at Madaba's 6th-century mosaic map and on the ridge of Mount Nebo, where the view across the Jordan Valley to the West Bank anchors the historical context of the entire route. The tour closes at the Dead Sea, the lowest road in the world.
Departures are scheduled year-round from Amman, with spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offering the most comfortable riding temperatures. The tour suits travellers with regular road-cycling fitness; off-road mountain bikes are not required. No current price is listed — contact Atlas Tours for group and private-departure rates.
