About This Tour
This eight-day pilgrimage tour covers the core sacred and historical corridor of Jordan, moving south from Amman through seven nights and seven landmark destinations. The itinerary visits Ajloun's castle and Byzantine church ruins, the Roman and early-Christian city of Jerash, the Madaba mosaic map, the biblical ridge of Mount Nebo, the Crusader fortress at Kerak and, at the tour's culmination, a full day in the Nabataean city of Petra.
Compared with the nine-day Spiritual Jordan programme, this itinerary replaces the Baptism Site stop with the Kerak castle and extends into Petra — giving travellers a journey that balances Christian pilgrimage with the broader sweep of Jordanian civilisations from Nabataean through Byzantine and Crusader periods. Madaba's St George's Church houses the oldest surviving mosaic map of the Holy Land, while Mount Nebo's ridge at 817 metres offers one of the most dramatic viewpoints in the Middle East.
Departures operate year-round from Amman with spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) recommended for comfortable walking at open-air sites. The tour pairs well with an extension to Wadi Rum or the Red Sea port of Aqaba. No current price is listed; contact Atlas Tours for group, parish and private-departure quotations.
