About This Tour
This ten-day cultural tour moves through the full breadth of northern and central Jordan, combining urban heritage with active wilderness days. The itinerary opens in Amman before heading north to the Roman city of Jerash, then west into the Ajloun forests — where hiking trails of two and four hours wind between ancient olive groves and the Ayyubid castle. The tour then descends to the Dead Sea and ventures into the Wadi Numeirah canyon, giving travellers a rare encounter with Jordan's interior landscape.
Named landmarks anchor the itinerary: Jerash's colonnaded Cardo and Oval Plaza, the 12th-century Ajloun Castle, the Dead Sea beach at 430 metres below sea level, and the sculpted sandstone ravines of Wadi Numeirah. Cultural meals, local market visits and English-speaking guides translate the layered history of each site. The balance of walking, driving and leisure time makes the tour accessible to travellers of moderate fitness.
Departures run year-round from Amman with the most comfortable conditions in spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). The ten-day structure pairs naturally with a short extension to Petra or a Red Sea stay in Aqaba. No price is currently listed; contact Atlas Tours for current season rates and private-group availability.
